With comfortable shared lodging, access to simple recording gear, and a focus on authentic storytelling, this trip isn’t just about writing songs—it’s about capturing the spirit of a place and turning it into music that travels far beyond it.
JULY 19 - 26, 2026

JULY 27 - AUGUST 2, 2026
Armenia is a place where ancient soul meets raw, untamed beauty—where every melody feels like it’s been echoing through the mountains for centuries. From the stone-carved monasteries perched on dramatic cliffs to the deep, emotional pull of traditional duduk music, this country invites you to slow down and feel something real. Writing a song in Armenia isn’t just about capturing a place—it’s about stepping into a story that’s been lived, fought for, and preserved through time. The people carry a quiet strength and warmth, and when you sit with them, share food, and listen, the music comes naturally. In Armenia, inspiration isn’t forced—it rises from the land, the history, and the heart.
AUGUST 4 - 11, 2026
Songwriting in Azerbaijan is like stepping into a crossroads of East and West, where ancient traditions meet modern rhythms. The haunting sounds of the tar and kamancha echo through the streets, inspiring melodies that feel both timeless and deeply emotional. From the vibrant energy of Baku to the quiet mountain villages, every corner offers a new story waiting to be turned into song. Influenced by the rich heritage of mugham music and poetic storytelling, writing here invites you to slow down, listen closely, and create something raw and authentic—capturing the soul of a culture shaped by history, resilience, and beauty.
AUGUST 13 - 19, 2026
Songwriting in Kazakhstan feels like stepping into a vast, untamed melody where the horizon never ends and every note carries the spirit of the степь. As you ride through the golden grasslands outside Almaty, the wind becomes your rhythm section, steady and ancient, while distant mountains hum a low harmony beneath your thoughts. You find yourself sharing tea inside a yurt with local musicians who pass down stories through the haunting sounds of the dombra, their fingers dancing across strings like echoes of nomadic journeys. In Astana, the contrast hits—modern skylines reflecting ambition and change—giving your lyrics a tension between tradition and the future. Every mile traveled across this country writes a new line for you, until your song becomes a fusion of wide-open silence, cultural depth, and the quiet realization that sometimes the most powerful music is found in the spaces where words almost fail.

We’re heading to Japan for a week of diving deep into its history, culture, and people to create a song that could only be written there. This isn’t about rushing through tourist spots — it’s about walking ancient streets in Kyoto, feeling the energy of Tokyo at night, sitting down with local musicians, sharing meals, asking questions, and really listening. Each day we’ll explore, connect, and then bring those experiences into the studio, shaping melodies and lyrics inspired by what we’ve lived together. With a two-person camera crew capturing the journey, the entire creative process will be documented as we collaborate toward one final song that reflects the spirit of Japan and the stories of the people we meet along the way.
DATES: Nov. 6 - Nov. 13, 2026
Join us in South Korea where tradition and modern life collide in a way that constantly sparks new ideas. Set against the energy of Seoul, the writing is fueled by late-night walks, street music in neighborhoods like Hongdae, quiet moments inside ancient palaces, and long studio sessions that stretch into the early hours. Songs take shape through contrast — old and new, fast and slow, polished and raw — as culture, language, and rhythm influence every creative decision. With a small group and cameras capturing the entire journey, this episode is about immersion, discipline, and inspiration, and how being dropped into one of the most dynamic music cultures in the world pushes songwriting to a deeper, more intentional level.
